The Health Risks of Skinny Jeans and Tight Pants

Women, and a lot of men, love fashion. Millenials love to style and dress themselves up with trendy clothing, shoes, apparel and jewelry.

The whole point, of course, is to look attractive and appealing.

In recent years, one fashion trend that has gained and maintained popularity is the skinny jeans. These types of pants are tight, with narrow and tightly tapered leg, and would need you to do some wiggling to squeeze into it.

Most glamorous celebrities, supermodels, moms and even men were fond of wearing  skinny jeans for different reasons – controls wobbling tummies, hide extra fats in your thighs, or flaunt body.

Skinny jeans do have a place in fashion but there are serious health risks associated to regularly wearing them. The tighter they get and more frequently you wear them exposes you to health hazards that range from slightly annoying to seriously debilitating.

Here are some of those hazards that you should know about:

Meralgia paresthetica

It is a condition caused by tight jeans compressing the sensory nerves in your pelvis resulting to numbness down to your thigh. And when you stand up, you cannot feel anything as if you’re floating.

This condition itself is not dangerous, but it can cause severe damage to the nerves if you keep having repeated episodes.

Urinary Tract Infection

Tight pants trap the moisture under your pants making it favorable for the bacteria and fungus to replicate, especially when wearing it frequently and most of the day.

Skinny jeans also push your underwear all up to your crack. And as you move, fabric will rub against it and cause to break the skin resulting to irritation.

Moreover, super-tight jeans put pressure on your bladder and cause inflammation. This will eventually result to urinary tract infection.

Compartment Syndrome

Compartment Syndrome is described as damage to nerves and muscles in calves usually caused by tight jeans.

Tight jeans reduce the blood supply to your legs, causing swelling of the muscles and pressure on the adjacent nerves. As a result, you cannot move your ankles or toes, and the lower part of the legs and feet will eventually go numb.

Men too…
Other common problems caused by skin-tight pants are abdominal discomfort, heart burn, jock itch and reproductive problems in men.

For men, skin-tight pants can cause a testicular torsion – testicle gets twisted on itself. If left untreated, circulation in this area will be cut off and testicle will die.

I’m amazed, I must say. Seldom do I encounter a blog that’s both equally educative and amusing, and without a
doubt, you have hit the nail on the head. The problem is something which too few men and women are speaking intelligently about.
I am very happy that I came across this during my search
    for something regarding this.
